Checkland Kindleysides. Think two. Two words. Two surnames. Founded in 1979 by two big thinkers, Jeff Kindleysides and David Checkland, our studio was powered by ambition, always looking for the new and to invent what’s next.

We’re no less ambitious today but we’ve grown and multiplied. But we never lost the wonder to create, invent and be curious. And while the world of design continues to evolve, our name stuck. It became a part of all of us. And that’s ‘Kindley’ (as in friendly and likeable). A good reflection of our culture and people and how we like to work. In a rush? A lot of our clients, friends and peers just call us ‘CK.’

We BELIEVE in:

Brands in outer space. There was a time when you knew where to find consumers, they were where brands were, and those brands were anchored to their permanent retail spaces. One way in and one way out, orchestrated to protect brand equity and captivate the audience in isolation to the outside world. These contained inner spaces have now become borderless open vistas — it’s what we call the outer space.

Brands and consumers being part of each other’s world, free to create the next encounter and the next pioneering discovery, an exciting world in continual orbit. There are no rules, no limitations and anything is possible. Creative thinking is focused on the encounter, then the sense of place, be it physical, virtual, digital or tactile. Flexible, dynamic, stand in or stand out, blended or disruptive — it’s anything anywhere.

No fixed way of doing things. Our creative strategy isn’t a formula. Everything we do is original, tailored to individual clients, with individual needs and individual views of their world. We embrace this and together we realise the unrealised.

There’s a moment, a gap at the beginning of every creative challenge where you see things through naive eyes, that moment that has no baggage or preconception, where anything is possible, and everything is achievable.

Place today has evolved beyond the physical. Place = people + time + context. On-demand connectivity and relationships are the new brand currency. Place is the space where people can fall in love with brands. And that can happen anywhere and everywhere.
