Year 2K is coming

Welcome to Wonder - a space to inspire, share our thoughts and to set imaginations free. This week we’ve been wondering about : is there ever a right time to rebrand, why Gen-Z are bringing back Y2K and what it would be like to share a commute with a monkey?!

Brand revival, didn't go viral?

Now we’ve got your attention with some Eminem lyrics - always read the warning signs, especially in business. We’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with clients during some of the biggest brand reinventions of this century. But how do you know when to rebrand and which transformation strategy will achieve the right results? Our team having been looking into it and have highlighted the 5 signs too lookout for. The ones that mean your brand is in need of a refresh and what you can do to revive your hey-day.

Y2K - little more than a throwback? We don’t think so…

Who remembers Paris Hilton’s hot pink, Juicy Couture velour tracksuit? Well Gen-Z do and they are bringing it back. Y2K fashion is back with a vengeance and looks set to dwarf the Millennial nostalgia that drove the comeback of 90’s brands like Dr Martens and Champion. Brands like True Religion are seeing a 10-year sales high, while content tagged “Y2K” on TikTok has amassed over 4.8 billion views. So whether you love it or hate it, starting planning which Y2K brand you’re going to tap for your next collab if you want to win with Gen-Z.

Having the local wildlife round for dinner

This week we’re loving the Barbican’s new ‘Our time on Earth’ exhibition. So many articles, exhibitions and documentaries put a very dystopian view on the topic of sustainability. In collaboration with futurist consultants Franklin Till, the Barbican is shifting the conversation to radical ideas where we live as one species. The next exhibition features immersive scenes of commuting to work on bridges made of tree roots and sitting down for dinner with the local wildlife. Plus you can also find out things you didn’t even know you needed to know. Like what noise plankton make. This is definitely a future we can get on board with.
