ÍSLAND Duty Free is now open to the world at Keflavík Airport. Alongside our long-term partners Gebr. Heinemann, we’ve reimagined the duty free retail experience with Iceland’s distinctive landscape and culture at its core.
Our creative platform, Moving Forms, connects brand identity and spatial design through the energy of a landscape in constant motion. Shifting tectonics, lava fields and geothermal lagoons inform a distinctive retail environment - where bold fractured planes give brands a stronger presence and unexpected routes invite exploration. A sense of place expressed through the experience, not simply applied as decoration.
At its heart, a dedicated regional area was developed in collaboration with local Icelandic practice Basalt Architects, gives local brands a distinctive stage. Icelandic craft, innovation and storytelling sit alongside international names, bringing a local perspective to the forefront a global gateway.
The launch marks a new chapter for the duty free retail experience at Keflavík Airport - a highly-commercial retail destination designed to extend the discovery of Iceland, whether travellers are arriving, departing or passing through.
